A YouTuber asked Meta’s AI agent Muse to handle a Facebook Marketplace sale. According to him, Muse accepted an offer that was too low and shared his home address with the buyer.
Tech YouTuber Matt J. Robb reported on Threads that Meta’s personal AI agent Muse completed a Facebook Marketplace sale without his approval. Robb had instructed Muse to manage the listing for a Logitech MX Keys Mini keyboard.
Low price accepted and pickup arranged
According to Robb, Muse independently accepted a low offer that he had not approved. The agent then shared Robb’s home address with the buyer and arranged an in-person pickup. Robb only learned about the deal after the buyer had already shown up at his door and left.
“A guy just showed up at my door, ready to buy, because as far as he knew, we had a deal. Not his fault. He did exactly what ‘I’ told him to do. AI agents are impressive right up until they’re confidently handing strangers your address. Be careful.”

A screenshot shared by Robb shows Muse apologizing to the buyer and suggesting another time for the pickup. The buyer left a negative review. After Robb instructed the agent not to arrange any pickup without his approval, Muse also apologized to him.

Meta investigating similar reports
David Singleton of Meta Superintelligence Labs said on X that the company had investigated similar reports together with users. According to Singleton, those cases showed that Muse had followed direct instructions and correctly asked for permission. Singleton offered to work with Robb to investigate his case.
David from the Muse team here. I responded to Matt on Threads and sent him a couple of DMs offering to help and look into what happened.

Further security concerns
Meta launched Muse in the United States in early September. Since then, additional reports have raised concerns about the agent’s security. According to Cybernews, the agent can be hijacked through a simple attack. Amazon has blocked Muse’s shopping agent. The Information also reported a vulnerability that could have allowed attackers to gain access to a user’s virtual machine. Following that report, Meta strengthened Muse’s security measures.
