Samsung Unveils New Foldable Smartphones and Smartwatches

Samsung has unveiled three new foldable smartphones and two smartwatches at its Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event.

The South Korean technology giant introduced three new foldable smartphones and two smartwatches at Galaxy Unpacked 2026. The new smartphones are the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip8. While the Z Fold8 is designed with media consumption in mind, the Z Fold8 Ultra targets users with demanding multitasking needs, featuring a three-part display. The Z Flip8 is the slimmest foldable smartphone in the Flip series to date and lets users access apps while the device is closed via its Flex Window.

Smartphone Specifications and Camera Features

The Galaxy Z Fold8 weighs 201 grams and measures 123.9 x 81.9 x 9.7 millimeters when folded and 123.9 x 161.4 x 4.5 millimeters when unfolded. It features an AMOLED 2X display, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a 4,800 mAh battery and a dual 50-megapixel camera system.

The Z Fold8 Ultra weighs 215 grams and offers a peak display brightness of 3,000 nits, a 5,000 mAh battery and a triple-camera system with a 50-megapixel wide-angle lens.

The Z Flip8 weighs 180 grams and comes with a 4,300 mAh battery, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 50-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 10-megapixel front-facing camera.

The new smartphones come with a premium price tag, ranging from approximately €1,200 to €2,200 depending on the model.

Health Tracking and Specifications of the Watch9 and Ultra2

Alongside its new smartphones, Samsung also introduced the Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2 smartwatches.

The Galaxy Watch9 is designed for everyday use and comes in two sizes and three color options, with battery life of up to 30 hours. Its health tracking features include heart rate, temperature, blood oxygen saturation and sleep apnea monitoring, as well as alerts for excessively high ambient noise levels.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is designed for outdoor sports and features an IP69K-rated enclosure. It offers up to 60 hours of battery life and includes features such as fall detection, a compass and support for diving applications.

Both smartwatches are powered by the Snapdragon Wear Elite processor.
