Samsung has sold out every color and storage configuration of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 in South Korea during the pre-order phase, forcing the company to adjust its delivery schedule.

According to Korean news outlet BusinessPost, sales of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 lineup have significantly exceeded Samsung’s internal forecasts. Available inventory was reportedly exhausted before the first devices were even scheduled to ship on August 7. While the shortages currently affect Samsung’s home market of South Korea, pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 remain open in Germany through August 6, 2026, with regular deliveries still set to begin on August 7.

Launch Delayed by Three Weeks

Samsung had originally planned to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 8 on August 7. Samsung Korea has now confirmed that deliveries will instead begin in phases starting August 28 — more than three weeks later than originally scheduled.

For the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, the delay primarily affects the 1 TB model, which will also begin shipping on August 28. The 512 GB version remains largely on schedule and is still expected to ship from August 7. Customers who selected in-store pickup will also face longer wait times, with availability shifting from early September to mid-September.

The delay is less severe for Samsung’s clamshell foldable. Depending on the selected color, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is expected to reach customers on either August 11 or August 18.

Samsung has not disclosed the exact reason for the supply constraints. The company says it cannot officially confirm the cause but believes the delays are likely the result of demand significantly exceeding expectations.

Two factors may have contributed to the strong sales momentum. First, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 features a noticeably redesigned chassis. Second, Samsung’s “Double Storage” pre-order promotion upgrades customers from 256 GB to 512 GB of storage at no additional cost.

Enterprise Edition Targets Business Customers

In addition to the consumer models, Samsung also offers the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Enterprise Edition through Samsung Business. Designed specifically for enterprise customers, the package combines hardware, software, and services in a deployment-ready solution.

Using a Samsung Account for Business, organizations and employees can access Galaxy AI features while remaining compliant with corporate security policies. IT administrators can centrally manage employee accounts, allowing new team members to get started without creating personal Samsung accounts.

To help protect sensitive business data, the device also includes Knox Vault, Samsung’s hardware-based security technology that safeguards credentials and business-critical information while enabling employees to work securely on the go.
