The Node.js project plans to release security updates for version branches 26, 24, and 22 on November 11, 2026. It rates the most severe of the patched vulnerabilities as high. The developers have not yet provided details.

The developers of the server-side JavaScript runtime environment Node.js have announced security updates. New versions of the release lines 26.x, 24.x, and 22.x are scheduled to appear on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, or shortly thereafter. This emerges from an advance announcement on the Node.js blog.

All Three Branches with High Severity

Which specific vulnerabilities are being resolved is, as usual, only disclosed by the project upon the release of the patches. CVE numbers and the total number of vulnerabilities are also not yet known. The only certainty is: the most severe vulnerability is rated as “High,” the second-highest level after “Critical.” This classification applies equally to all three affected version branches. Accordingly, the update fixes at least one vulnerability of high severity in Node.js 26.x as well as in 24.x and 22.x. Administrators should therefore schedule the update promptly.

Outdated Versions Are Always Affected

The Node.js project explicitly points out that end-of-life versions are fundamentally considered affected by every security release. There are no longer any patches for them. Anyone still running such a version in production should switch to a supported branch. Which versions are still maintained can be seen in the project’s release schedule on GitHub.
