Price Increases of Up to 3,300 Yuan

Colorful is raising prices for the RTX 5090 D V2, which is sold in China, by between 2,200 and 3,300 yuan, equivalent to approximately USD 330 to USD 495, depending on the model. The RTX 5080 is getting a price increase of at least 2,500 yuan, with some variants going up by 2,800 yuan, or around USD 375 to USD 420. According to the reports, the RTX 5070 Ti will become approximately USD 150 more expensive, while the RTX 5060 will see an increase of 150 to 200 yuan, equivalent to around USD 22 to USD 30. Galax could raise prices by at least 200 yuan for models starting with the RTX 5060, with significantly larger increases for higher-end cards.

Wholesale prices for the RTX 5080 in China had already reached approximately USD 2,170 to USD 2,240. Industry sources report that prices for some RTX 50 models have climbed to as much as 2.7 times their original levels over the course of 2026. It remains unclear whether these increases will affect other markets. Reports claiming that Nvidia itself had notified customers of worldwide price hikes could not be independently confirmed.

Older Models as an Alternative

The price increases are being driven by memory chip shortages and demand that continues to outstrip supply. According to ChannelGate, some manufacturers in China have already run out of RTX 50-series cards and are advising retailers to focus more heavily on older models such as the RTX 3060 and RTX 3050. In the United States, the RTX 5080 now sells for around USD 2,000, roughly twice its launch price in January 2025. Third-party sellers on Amazon are listing the RTX 5090 for approximately USD 8,500. According to user reports, Amazon has also canceled orders for Nvidia graphics cards and the DGX Spark AI computer. The cancellations are reportedly intended to curb resale activity.
